Apparently, visitors to the Pinnaroo Animal Park are expected to view the animals from outside the fence. I wasn't aware of that as I entered through the unlocked gateway, but the volunteer feeding the animals kindly allowed me to stay in the enclosure while he was there. The sign warned about the animals biting, but I wasn't terribly concerned about that. I did, however, keep a bit of an eye on the emus. I was charged by an ostrich at Dubbo's Western Plains Zoo many years ago, and have been a little wary of big birds since then. I was pleasantly surprised to see red kangaroos for the first time on my travels, so I spent the short time I had photographing them until the volunteer called out that he was leaving. He was keen to get to the football.
